Be still and listen to what is revealed in the stillness!
“Be still!” she said to me. I was taken aback then I remembered Kay had been part of a week-long cruise group I’d led. During our morning meditation I’d passed around a velvet bag filled with glass stones, each inscribed with a phrase. Each person reached in and took out a stone with the phrase to be used for their guided meditations. Kay had been astounded by her stone which read, “Be still.”
We can choose to ignore the invitations that life presents or accept them.
Kay wondered how such a super active, always in motion person could ever be still. But she was game to try it.
The result was not a change in her persona or way of being. Rather it was an appreciation for short moments of stillness in the midst of her busyness. She was surprised by what those moments revealed!
- Be still for even a few minutes and pay attention to your breath
- Listen to the sound of your breath in the stillness and what it reveals
Notice how the stillness surprises you!
