Loving yourself, others and the world is an ecosystem of vibrant life!
Kay told me about the interior work she’d done to love herself and how it transformed the way she loved the people in her life for who they are. Kay added, “But, something is missing; I want to love the world by doing something to make a difference.” She described her fears of how to interact with people whose world might be different than hers. I said, “Kay at some point you simply have to do it.”
Kay could choose to allow her fears to inhibit her or step beyond their power.
Months later she called to say that she was using her professional skills to help unemployed homeless women prepare for the job market.
The result was surprising to Kay. She said, “I’m surprised to have learned something so obvious; the women I work with have so many of the hopes that I do. It almost makes me feel silly.” But Kay was radiant about having found her spot in loving the world.
- What do you need to do to love yourself, others or the world?
- How will you start the doing today?
Notice how loving the world, others and you fuel your compassion and courage.
